XChallenge Men

In the senior men's XChallenge race Cardiff's Michael Ward finished 3rd, that followed a very good Leg in the ERRA's taking Cardiff team on 2nd Leg from 17th to 3rd place. Michael has spent 4 years in USA Uni. He had very good results on XC Indoors and on the track. He is now in Birmingham Uni on a 4 year course in Dentristy. Photo taken in XChallenge during race only shows Michael's head at back of leading groupof runners. Hence photo shows Michael at Brecon, with winners medal of Welsh Schools XCC. Race was 2 weeks before he gained a GB U20 vest in World XCC in Poland. In Trials Michael finished 6th, in World XCC Michael was 3rd GB counter. last Saturday Michael led home a strong senior Cardiff team. Ciaran Lewis who also is in a rich form of race results in ERRA's and was 5th on Saturday, with James Hunt 7th, Ieuan Thomas 8th, and Jack Eykebosch 28th.

Aberdare won team race with Cardiff 7th, one runner not wearing a club vest thus scoring no points for team,

In the younger age group races, as per Welsh Athletics weekend report on XChallenge, said Cardiff teams dominated results.
