This weekend saw Cardiff senior athletes competing on Road and Cross Country.
The European Cross Country took place in Dublin. Cardiff had 3 representatives in the Great Britain team. All acquitted themselves well on a course that seemed slippery under foot.
Jenny Nesbitt was in great racing form. She finished 10th being the second British runner home. This helped the team to a gold medal. A great result. This clearly sets her up for the indoor season.
Cari Hughes also had a great performance. She seemed to be enjoying her run and was gaining great experience. She finished in 16th position, which helped her team to a bronze medal.
Jake Smith was Cardiff’s 3rd athlete involved in these championships. He was in the senior race which was won by Jakob Ingrigtsen. This race had a strong field. Jake ran well and gained good experience racing in such a competitive field.
Congratulations to all three on their Great British vests and fine performances.
