The first in the summer series of SSAFA 5km road races took place last Wednesday 22nd May. Held in sunny and warm conditions at Bute Park, Cardiff. There was a very good turn out of Cardiff Athletics runners, in a field of 191 finishers. First Cardiff runner was Alex Jackson U20 10th (first Junior) in 16.28. Cardiff's Lucy Marland was 2nd SW in 17.39. Ben Hughes Cardiff U15M was 42nd in 18.03. Laura Wright Cardiff U20W was 63rd in 19.09 and Bethany Gold U17W was 84th (first Junior) in 19.51. Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival 10km
This race was won by Cardiff's Dan Nash in 36.28. The event was part of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Spring Fair, Builth Wells, held on Saturday 18th May.
Dan is in a rich vein of racing form, finishing ahead of Joseph Reardon 2nd Aberdare in 36.48, and John Howells 3rd Pontypridd Roadents in 37.34.

Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run 10km
The Manchester 10km road race was held on Sunday 19th May. This race includes international field of male and female runners from Africa and Europe taking part. The 2019 race was no different,won by Jacob Kiplimo U20 is 27.31 winning by 53secs.
The first British runner home was Nick Goolab 4th in 28.40. Cardiff's Kevin Seaward was 12th in 29.46, and Ieuan Thomas 13th in 29.47. In the woman race, first British female to finish was Stephanie Twell also 4th female finisher in 32.41. Cardiff's Clara Evans was 8th female finisher in 33.45.
All three Cardiff runners had a good race, and were close to their 10km pb road times.
