This weekend saw the Youth Development League regional final at Rugby.


It was a long way to travel but the  Cardiff athletes that did were brilliant. All competing well and many getting personal bests performances.
Reagan McCarthy won the U13M  75m with a PB time of 9.72. And had another PB in the 150m of 18.64, which ranks him 2nd in the UK!
Alfie Winder in the B 75m  race ran a PB. Alfie also has  PB in the long jump.
Ffion Ball ran a PB in the non scoring 75m and had a PB in her 150m race
Lewis Barnes came 2nd in the U15M 100m. Also had a second place in the Long jump.
Anais Shepherd won the 300m U15W.
800m saw some brilliant racing. Tomas Davies won the U15M A race 800m in a PB time of 2.05.57. Rhodri Amos won the B race in. PB time 2.07.62. Harvey Lee had a PB sinning the non scoring 800.
Imogen Davies finished 3rd in her race with a PB with Rhiannon Derrick finishing 4th in the B race in a PB time. Sioned John came 2nd in the non scoring 800 with a PB.
U13 A race saw Isobel Davies win in a personal best time of 2.28.56.
Bryony Boyce was a clear winner in the 1200m U13A race running a PB 3.48.47.
Joshua Sanders won the U15M 1500m A race. Samuel Boyce came 3rd in the B race.
Mabli Phillips ran a PB in the 1500m U15W A race with Rebecca Derrick running a PB to finish 3rd in the B race.
There were PB in the U75W hurdles with Alicia Coombes and Anwen Bailey running personal bests in their races. Anwen also had a PB in the long jump. Isobel Davies had a PB in U13 LJ.
Sebastian Mitchell- Fofana also had a PB in his hurdles race, but won the high jump with a PB jump of 1.63m. Sebastian had a second place in the pole vault.
U13W high jump saw 2nd places for Grace Caddy and Ava John both jumping personal bests. Ava had a 3rd place in the javelin with a PB.
U15W long jump saw a 3rd place for Maylayah Jay in the A group and Katie Higginson finished 4th with a PB in the B group.
Sonny McCabe had a PB in his shot put competition. As did Oscar Hayley’s in U13M. Sonny came second in the hammer competition finishing 2nd and 5th in the javelin,
Rebecca Derrick had a PB in U15W shot put with her sister finishing 3rd in the B group competition. Rhiannon had a PB in the javelin finishing 2nd .Rebecca finished 3rd in the Discus  with Evie Bull coming second in the B group.
Ava Hughes-Rolls came 2nd in the U13W shot and Anwen Bailey came 4th with a PB in the B group. Ava had a 3rd place in the javelin.
Discus saw PB’s by Lewis Barnes, Gruff Dafydd.
Relays were good for Cardiff teams. 4x300 U15M team came second with a seasons best.
4x100m U15M, U15W and 4x400m U15W teams came third in their races.

Well done to all the Cardiff athletes who took part and made it a magical day.



English senior Championships in Bedford saw a number of Cardiff athletes taking part.
Joshua Brown took part in 100m getting through to the semi finals.
Nils Rehm T47 came second in the 200m.
Rhiannon Linington-Payne came 2nd in the heat and finished 4th in the final of the 800m race.
Rebecca Chapman had a fourth place in the Long Jump. 4 cms behind 3rd.

BMC meeting at Exeter saw a number of personal best times by Cardiff athletes. In the 800m saw Tomas Davies U15, Alex Ridout U17, Isobel Davies U13  and Elen Eirys James U20 all run PB’s.
In the 1500m saw Anwen Gammon U23 also ran a PB.
