Congratulations to Cardiff’s Jake Smith U23, (James Thie) who was selected for GB squad in the World Half Marathon Championship.

Jake’s selection followed his excellent performance 3rd 62.02, in the Vitality Half Marathon held in London. The race was a trial race for GB squad.

 

A maximum of 7 runners can be included in Countries team squads with 5 runners starting race.

50 Country teams have entered with 250 runners taking part, including world record holders from Uganda and Kenya.

 

Jake had already had another excellent Half Marathon result of 62.02 on 17th November 2019. in France

To back up his performance in London race.

 

Gydnia city is on the Baltic coast, with the race course of 4 laps of 5km, with finish on the city main beach. Course is mainly  flat at sea level, with one slight climb in city centre, coming down hill to city beach area.

Should be good for spectators. If race not shown on our TV channels. check IAAF web, where it maybe shown live.

 

Good luck to Cardiff’s Jake Smith in SM race, and Clara Evans in SW race.
