25th to 27th June.
On Friday week the Olympic Trials commences in Manchester. Athletes from across UK will compete for first 2 places in all events. At last Wednesday’s 10k Olympic Trials in Birmingham University, 2nd SM, did not have Olympic standard. Another 10k Trial takes place on Friday 25th June, giving Sir Mo Farah, last chance of achieving 10k standard.
In the women’s 10k race, the first 2 finishers, had the Olympic standard.
This summer athletes have been competing in UK and Aboard, chasing times/distances standards, for Olympic and Commonwealth Games (2022).
Jake Heyward (U23), following races in USA, where he achieved Olympic standard twice for 1500m. He returned to Europe for 2 more races prior to Manchester Trials.
Pro Athlete Tour de Marseille France 9th June 1500m 7th 3.34.63 (0.82) to second place. France 12th Nice International France 12th June. 800m 9th 1.47.25 pb. 800m race standard very high, winner 1.43.63 (world lead).
Jake completes training preparations with 2 hard lactic tolerance sessions, for what will be fast finishing heats and final races. Jake is currently UK 4th ranked 1500m 3.33.99.
