Following the European Trials at Liverpool last Saturday, while knowing the race results, delayed web report until today. When the GB teams for the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon, Portugal, on 8th December, was annouced in the media.
Cardiff's Charlotte Arter 2nd, Jenny Nesbitt 6th, were selected for the senior women's team. Charlotte appeared in GB team last year's event held in Netherlands. Jenny, this will be her first senior Euro Cross appearance. The course was muddy but did not stop races being run fast from start, with GB team places at stake. Charlotte and Jenny have shown out standing good racing form this Autumn, but they still have to produce that form in Trial race, to get selected. Congratulations to both Ladies. See below other Cardiff runners at Liverpool.
In the senior men's race, Mike Ward while with leading group was spiked, his shoe was ripped apart, and his foo cutt, unable to compete he ran to finish race. Bad luck is following Mike, he turned his ankle, while with leader of XC race in Northern Ireland DNF.

Unlike men's race the U17W have to race in U20W race, no way to help them develop, e.g. Moli finished 63rd in race. James Hunt has had good results on Road as as Cross Country he continues to improve, and could be in contention for GB place in next 2 years.. Lloyd Sheppard U17 is another improving runner with good results on Road and Cross Country. Ben Reynolds a track runners had a good result over a muddy course at Liverpool, that didn't suit some runners more use to hard surfaces..
