Frame running
Frame running is an inclusive and adaptive sport designed for individuals with severe motor and coordination impairments who want to engage in physical fitness and sporting activities. Using a three-wheeled frame with a saddle and handlebars for support—often referred to as a running frame—participants are able to run or propel themselves using their feet without the need for balance. Frame running opens up valuable opportunities for exercise, competition, and social interaction, empowering athletes of all abilities to improve cardiovascular health, build strength, and enjoy the many benefits of active participation in sport.
I’m interested, what do I do next?
If you would like to try frame running for yourself, you can use one of the running frames available from our partner, Frame Running Dragons, Cardiff (FRDC). One of our FRDC coaches or volunteers will be available to supervise your session. Just let us know when you would be interested in attending one of our track sessions, which usually take place on Fridays, during school term times.
The only items you will need are trainers, comfortable clothing and a good quality helmet.
